Mason: Month 8 {Photos + Videos}

Well, hello there Mr. 8 Month old!

Weight: 21 pounds, 10 ounces (fully clothed) on June 7th; Thankfully, we haven't had to go back to the doctor after that! I think by month's end, he is about 22 pounds, 10 ounces

Height: When I took Mason to the ENT earlier in the month, the nurse measured him as best she could and said about 28 inches. Given the way his clothes fit, I would agree.

Nicknames: Mase, Mase Mase, Stinka, Stink Pot, Buh Buhs, French Fry (by Daddy), StudBaby and Muscle Man (by GiGi)

Eating (Milk): Mason is still getting 4 bottles a day between 8 and 9 ounces. He gets them at 7a, 11a, 3p, and 6:30p. We are still using the Target brand for Enfamil Infant and it's working great.

Eating:(Solids): Mason is still loving any and all foods. He eats solids after the 7a, 11a, and 6:30p feedings. With the ear infections, I was trying not to change too much since he was alternating antibiotics earlier in the month. New foods this month: peas (6/10), broccoli (6/14), potatoes (6/16), Zucchini (6/17), Squash (6/18), Mango (6/19), A taste of pizza crust (6/21), Cauliflower (6/23), Eggs (6/25), greek yogurt (6/27). Mason is very close to being ready for more and more whole foods and we have big plans for this next month to introduce yogurt, cottage cheese, other cheeses and many other whole foods as we lessen the amount of purees he will get. I can't wait to see how it goes!

Sleeping: Early in the month around the time of the ear infections, we thought Mason may need to cut one of his naps because his naps weren't as good but we waited in out and he quickly got back into routine. He sleeps 7p-7a at night. Mason naps 9-11, 1-3, and 5:00-5:30. If we are out and about during any of the nap times, Mason can usually adapt well and lessen his naps. He is a trooper!

Diapers: We are still loving cloth and when we are at home or just out and about, we use those. At night and for long trips, we still love our LUVS. He now wears a size 5!!

Clothes:  We have very few size 9 month clothes left that fit. Most clothes are 12 months and even 18 months. AH!!!

Social: Talking a little bit more saying "ba" (6/8) and other sounds; He is a little behind on this (my SLP opinion)  because of those darn ear infections.  He loves to smile especially at Mom and Dad and he is a little more stingy with those smiles around strangers. He loves other people and is a BIG time people watcher just like his Momma. When Matt took him out for breakfast one morning, he could barely get him to eat because he was so interested in everyone around him.

New/fun things from this month: Both bottom teeth have come all the way in and there seems to be some teething for those top teeth, too!

We went to our first storytime on 6/16 and we signed Mason up for summer reading program, too.

Mason started waving some on 6/22.

The little guy is finally sitting up for long periods of time. He was starting to sit up about 2 months ago and then the ear infections really gave him a set back and now he is back at it! He is able to put the balls into his ball tower now. So fun to watch!

This has been going on for a while but I'm not sure I mentioned in the last post. Mason is responding to his name all of the time and now he even looks to Matt or me when we say "Momma" and "daddy". So fun!

Mason is trying to pull up like crazy! He gets to his knees but not all the way to his feet yet.

He is also starting to smack his lips. So funny!

Likes: To hear us say "Hello?" In a a sing song voice.  Army crawling everywhere. Mason is quite the adventurous fella and he wants to try to get into any place he can. Mason loves reading books and he still loves him jumper, too!

Dislikes: Having his face wiped. He doesn't mind this in the bathtub but after eating--no way! Being tired. Having something fun (read: unsafe) removed from his hands.

Funnies: We were FaceTiming with my mom on 6/10 and Mason was trying to look behind the iPad to find her. It was so sweet and sad at the same time! He enjoys peek-a-boo so much and more and more will look around the corner to find you and then quickly move his head back. Hilarious!

JCP had all of their GiggleBaby brand items on clearance and I got a changing pad cover for $2. The cover has sheep all over it and since we put it on the pad, every time we lay Mason down to change him, he yawns so much. Guess counting the sheep makes him sleepy!

Mommy: On 6/10, I was picking him up from his changing pad to lay him in his crib, he grabbed my face and gave me a big open-mouth kiss. It was precious!

I've been snapping some when I sing, etc and when Mason hears it, he stops whatever he is doing and watches me snap.

Mason also loves my necklace that I wear everyday. Whenever I pick Mason up, he always looks for the necklace.

Daddy: Mason and Dad have been watching World Cup Soccer.

Mom's been working a bit more (1-2 days a week), so Dad and Mason have gotten lots of guy time with trips to church, breakfast dates, napes and just good fun!

Mason also loves to crawl all over Matt when he lays on the floor. Matt is a tough guy for taking all of that. Mason is STRONG!

Other: The little guy had a rough start to the month with three rounds of different antibiotics and 6 MD appointments trying to clear them up. Thankfully, after a trip to the ENT, we are all good!
